About the Archive
A personal museum of orchard art
Vintage Fruit Labels is a private collection built over decades, one crate label at a time. Long before supermarket branding, growers competed through the artistry pasted onto the ends of wooden shipping crates—bold lithographs designed to catch a buyer's eye at the market.
This site exists to share that artistry. Every label is scanned in high resolution, researched, and documented with its country of origin and approximate date, so collectors, historians and the simply curious can enjoy it freely.
Why it matters
Most of these labels were meant to be thrown away. Preserving them keeps alive the history of the growers, printers and artists who made everyday commerce beautiful.
About the collector
The collection is cared for by a lifelong enthusiast who still hunts estate sales, packing-house closures and antique fairs for labels the archive is missing.
